Author Guidelines

1. General Information
Istiqsha: Adnin Journal of Integrative Islamic Inquiry is a biannual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Center for Research and Community Service (LP2M), Institut Ilmu Al-Qur’an Jannatu Adnin Kendari, Indonesia. The journal welcomes scholarly works that integrate Islamic knowledge and contemporary scientific inquiry in the humanities, education, and social sciences. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review and plagiarism screening.

2. Manuscript Types

  • Research Articles — empirical studies with clear methodology and findings.
  • Conceptual Papers — theoretical reflections or models integrating Islamic and modern perspectives.
  • Review Articles — systematic reviews or meta-analyses relevant to Islamic integrative scholarship.
  • Reflective Essays — philosophical or ethical analyses on the relationship between faith and knowledge.

3. Manuscript Preparation
a. Language
Manuscripts may be written in English, Arabic, or Bahasa Indonesia. Non-English submissions must include an English title and abstract.

b. Format
Use Microsoft Word (.docx) format, A4 paper size. Margins: 2.5 cm (all sides). Font: Times New Roman 12 pt (English/Indonesian); Traditional Arabic 16 pt (Arabic). Line spacing: 1.15; alignment: Justified. Word count: 5,000–8,000 words (including references).

c. Main Text Sections

  • Introduction — Context, gap, and objectives.
  • Literature Review/Theoretical Framework — Relevant studies and theoretical grounding.
  • Methodology — Research design, participants, instruments, data collection, and analysis.
  • Results and Discussion — Findings, analysis, and interpretation linked to integrative Islamic inquiry.
  • Conclusion and Implications — Key insights, limitations, and suggestions for further research.

d. References
Follow APA Style, 7th Edition. All references must be cited in-text. Use Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote for citation management.

5. Tables, Figures, and Arabic Text
Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and accompanied by clear titles. Arabic script must use Unicode fonts such as Traditional Arabic or Amiri Quran. All transliterations must follow the Library of Congress (LC) system or other recognized academic standards.

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Ethical approval for studies involving human participants.
  • Proper acknowledgment of funding sources or institutional support.
  • No conflict of interest is present.
  • Adherence to Istiqsha’s Plagiarism Policy and Publication Ethics Statement.

7. Submission Process
Submit manuscripts via the journal’s OJS system: https://rumahjurnal.iiq-jakendari.ac.id/istiqsha/login
Registration and submission are free of charge. All correspondence and notifications are sent through the OJS platform.

8. Review and Decision
Each manuscript undergoes initial editorial screening, double-blind peer review, and final editorial decision. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments before acceptance. Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and proofreading before publication.

9. Copyright and Open Access
Authors retain copyright and grant Istiqsha the right of first publication. All articles are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). The journal charges no publication fees or APCs.
